MATLAB tutorial example simulation problem

Post by Rodrigo870 » Tue Jul 12, 2011 3:39 pm

Hi everybody,
I’m trying to execute the MATLAB sample (BumpAndGo) that comes with Marilou’s samples, I’ve followed to the letter all the steps that the tutorial for this example indicates, but once I run the GUI and I push the “Connexion” button an error occur. It is unable to connect to server.
I wonder what the problem might be, what might it be going on?
It is Marilou 2010 Demo Edition
Version: 4.7.16
Build: Build M9-X86 (2011, May 30)
MATLAB 7.6.0 (R2008a)
Windows Vista Ultimate 2007 64 bit OS.

Here is the workspace for more detail:
Warning: Name is nonexistent or not a directory: E:\work.
>> cd D:\Robotics86\Samples\External\MATLAB\Interface
>> RobotInterface
mexFunction->Choise c
mexFunction->Connect localhost /robot0
mexFunction->Connect unable to connect to server
mexFunction->Choise d
mexFunction->Disconnect

message =

Robot('c','localhost','/robot0') :Connexion failled or robot not found

I hope someone can help me with this problem; I will appreciate it a lot!!!
Thank you in advance!
Best.

Hi,

Does Exec is running on 'localhost' ? you have firt to run the simulator in order to be able to connect to it.

MODA is connecting on port 13000 : check it is not closed in your firewall (a marilou sample that is launching a .exe file like scenes\testworld or scenes\vaccun)

Hi Fabian,
Man, I feel so ashamed…
You were right; I had to run the simulator first.
I’m really, really, truly sorry for my question now that you showed me how trivial my mistake was. I’m a new comer to this software as you can see now.

Thank you very much for your time and interest! I appreciate it.
Best!
